The ANU Vice-Chancellor's Awards for Excellence in Education recognise and encourage excellence in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research supervision at the University.

Awards for Teaching Excellence

The Awards for Teaching Excellence celebrate the University's most outstanding teachers in their fields. The awards give recognition to teachers for the excellence of their teaching; who have outstanding presentation skills and who have made a broad and deep contribution to enhancing the quality of learning and teaching in ANU.

Awards for Excellence in Supervision

The Awards for Excellence in Supervision recognise a sustained record of innovative and outstanding supervision of higher degree by research students, including strong commitment to students and best practice in introducing them to research and research networks.

Awards for Programs that Enhance Learning
 

The Awards for Programs that Enhance Learning recognise learning and teaching support programs and services that make an outstanding contribution to the quality of student learning and the quality of the student experience of higher education at ANU, and which have demonstrated their effectiveness through evaluation.

Citations for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning

Citations for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning and reward the diverse contributions that university staff and associates make to the quality of student learning in higher education.

Awards for Excellence in Tutoring or Demonstrating

Awards for Excellence in Tutoring or Demonstrating: Tutors and demonstrators are responsible for much of the small group teaching at the ANU, so they make an immensely important contribution to front-line and hands-on teaching for their students. These awards celebrate our most outstanding tutors and demonstrators, and reflect the critical importance of this core teaching and learning activity.

Key dates for 2014 Awards

  • Nominations open: 1 November 2013
  • Nominations close: 23 November 2013
  • Information sessions for nominees: 4 December & 9 December 2013
  • Deadline: 10am, 28 February 2014
  • Announcement of Award recipients: April 2014
  • Presentation of Awards: At the Conferring of Awards ceremonies for each College in July 2014.
