Teaching & Learning at ANU: Foundations

The overall aim for the course is to equip you with strategies, tools, and frameworks to support your university teaching. The 10 module course is specifically designed for staff who may be new to teaching at ANU and who want to better understand the context that underpins the University's education. Effective teachers demonstrate a capacity to apply a sophisticated understanding of how students learn both within their subject and disciplinary areas as well as a commitment to the values of respect and participation.

Requirements for the course

To successfully complete the course, participants must attend and participate in ten modules. In time, these modules will be offered in flexible formats; however, in its current mode, you are required to attend and participate in ten 2-hour sessions which will be held in the CHELT Seminar Room, Building 10T1.

Please note that there are two additional modules F11 and F12 for 2019. Participants may substitute any of the core modules (F1-F10) with either of the two optional modules. Alternatively, you can choose to complete all 12 modules.
